The alternative to drums and bins: Flexible IBCs

Zero lubricant contamination with Fluid-Bag bulk grease containers

flexi png low res2Fluid-Bag is a flexible IBC grease container of 1000 or 900 l (265 / 240 gallons) for industrial bulk greases, lubes, oils, coolants, and other liquid and semi-solid products.

The Fluid-Bag container for grease stays sealed during filling, handling and discharge. It can be connected and emptied without exposing it to air and the elements, thus there is no risk of particles or moisture ending up in the grease during handling and discharge.

Fewer container changeovers, cleaner grease

Fewer changeovers are needed with a 1000 liter (265 gal.) grease container compared to 200 l (≈50 gal.) drums, further diminishing contamination risks. Clean industrial lubricants ensure a well-functioning fleet and less downtime and lower malfunction costs.

Fluid-Bag grease containers lower the wastage percentage

Does the bulk grease user end up throwing away more than 4-5 % of the grease they buy?

By choosing Fluid-Bag IBCs, grease users can reduce their product wastage of bulk greases and oils drastically, dropping the grease wastage down to 1 %. Fluid-Bag's flexible IBC grease containers can be squeezed and emptied much more efficiently, and with the semi-automatic Discharge Roller system in use, 99 % product recovery is the norm.

When discussing the hot topic of calculating the carbon footprint of bulk grease users, this increased usage rate enables a considerable CO2 saving.

No cleaning costs

Bulk grease users can avoid all cleaning costs with Fluid-Bag's single-use inner container and abolish return transport costs – no more empty grease containers on the road. A greener choice also in this respect.

Bulk lubricants in Fluid-Bag FLEXI grease containers

Fluid-Bag FLEXI grease containers transport bulk lubricants and greases to steel mills, mining sites and other industrial lubricant users for use in maintenance workshops, centralized lubricating systems and various manufacturing industries. Fluid-Bag containers for grease complement modern, preventive maintenance strategies for your vehicles and machinery.

Grease Transportation

Fluid-Bag grease containers can be transported by road, rail and sea.The Flexi grease container greatly improves grease logistics for shipping to user sites. Since the Flexi is a one-way solution, any unnecessary return transportation of grease containers is eliminated. The soft plastic inner container and transport bag can be folded tightly together, taking up very little space on the grease user's site, before being sent to incineration. The wooden pallet can be stacked in piles, and either be reused as such, or used for energy recovery.

Especially when transporting grease containers to remote sites, or to areas with limited infrastructure, the reductions in transportation costs, administration and warehouse space as well as CO2 emissions are considerable.

What kind of industrial lubricants are suitable for use in Fluid-Bag grease containers?

• Greases (currently used with NLGI class 00-III products)
• Oils (hydraulic oils, engine oils, gear oils, metalworking fluids, white oils etc.)
• Coolants
• Other liquid and semi-solid products

Which Fluid-Bag model should you use for your industrial lubricant?

The choice of the size of the outlet pipe depends on the viscosity of the lubricant product you fill in the Fluid-Bag.

• As a general rule Fluid-Bags with a 2” outlet pipe should be used for NLGI class ≤ 0 greases and for all oils.
• Fluid-Bags with 3” outlet pipes are used for NLGI class > 0 greases.

As a rule of thumb, it can be said that all industrial lubricants can be transported in Fluid-Bags as long as they are not transport classified as dangerous goods.
