The new method for grease discharge

TAU XTRACTOR: Sturdy & Strong

A Ground-Breaking Discharging Solution for Lubricants

The TAU XTRACTOR™ uses a completely new method for discharging grease from Fluid-Bag’s flexible containers with benefits optimized for demanding heavy-duty work environments.

Exceptionally strong and sturdy, it can withstand harsh treatment in the maintenance area of a mine or steel plant. The device grips the inner container of the Fluid-Bag, twists it with great strength and forces out all the grease, leaving around 2 % residue in the bag.

Fluid-Bag has always focused on safety and lubricant cleanliness. The TAU XTRACTOR (patent pending) discharge mechanism is fully enclosed behind metal safety doors to protect the container inside. Due to the sealed Fluid-Bag, grease is kept clean from dust, particles and moisture.

Characteristics and Advantages of the TAU XTRACTOR

Increased Efficiency

Compared to 200 l drums: This discharge method boasts up to 5 times more efficient handling than using traditional drums and grease pumps. One Fluid-Bag holds 1000 liters of grease, instead of 5 drums of 200 liters each. The TAU XTRACTOR will independently discharge all the grease from the Fluid-Bag at the rate you require, eliminating the need to switch containers every 200 liters.

Compared to 1000 l grease totes: The Fluid-Bag Flexi container is a one-way solution that can be disassembled and recycled after use. This reduces the need for warehouse space, and there is no administration of return freights or maintenance of empty, used grease totes.

Tau Xtractor, Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Tau Xtractor discharge both 900 and 1000 liter Fluid-Bags?

Yes, both 900 and 1000 liter model Fluid-Bags can be discharged with a Tau Xtractor.

  • Will I need a pump?

Yes, you wil need a pump to extract the grease from the Fluid-Bag container and feed the grease onwards in your process. You can use common drum pumps (examples: Graco Fire-Ball 300/425 or Aro Grease Pumps), as well as large piston pumps or progressive cavity pumps.

Samoa Pumpmaster, Graco Huskey or Checkmate or Alemite Industrail are all the same to the Tau Xtractor. As long as the pump pulls the grease out, the Tau Xtractor doesn’t care about brand or model.

  • What is the energy source of the Tau Xtractor?

Tau Xtractor only needs compressed air supply to operate (6-8 bar, ~500NL/min)

  • When should I choose Tau Xtractor?

A Tau Xtractor is the preferred solution when you need:

    - a powerful device for efficient grease discharge with very low amount of grease residue

    - a closed discharging process where the walls and safety door protect the container and product inside from the elements, and prevent access to the discharging mechanism during the process

    - robust equipment that can be used in dusty, dirty and challenging environments

    - a method for discharging the container autonomously once the process is started (the procedure can however be paused manually when needed).

  • What is the difference between a Tau Xtractor and a Discharge Roller?

Both devices are very efficient when you need to discharge viscous products, but the Tau Xtractor uses a completey new discharging method. Tau Xtractor will simultaneously stretch, twist and squeeze the inner container to feed product to the pump. The Discharge Roller stretches the inner container and uses the moving rolls to "nip" and squeeze the inner bag, to help empty the Fluid-Bag and feed the pump.

The discharge process in a Tau Xtractor happens behind a closed safety door, while the Discharge Roller is an open process. Tau Xtractor uses more force when discharging, so for this reason we have enhanced the safety mechanisms for this device. Tau Xtractor is also a more robust construction, which is well suited for challenging environments, and when you want to keep the container and discharge process shielded from the surrounding environment.

Tau Xtractor is a more automated device than the semi-automatic Discharge Roller. Once you have inserted and connected the Fluid-Bag to a Tau Xtractor, the device will automatically discharge the container in one go (with the speed you determine with your settings and pump). The semi-automatic Discharge Roller needs supervision and some manual intervention during the process.
