Fluid-Bag Filling Solutions

Fluid-Bag equipment options for efficient filling

Here we present the most commonly used solutions for filling Fluid-Bag contaiers. If you need help to evaluate which equipment option would work best in your case, and in general if Fluid-Bag is a good container option for you, our Fluid-Bag experts are happy to help.

Basic principles for filling a Fluid-Bag

In general, the most important thing is to stretch the container during the filling procedure. This ensures that the plastic layers of the inner liner are not folded or bended, which could cause "pockets" of non filled space, or that the plastic of the inner liner blocks the discharge outlet. The stretching ensures that the container is filled to its maximum capacity, and is filled as a rounded, symmetric shape.

Fluid-Bag Tote Filling Station

As the name suggests, the Fluid-Bag Tote Filling Station is specifically designed for filling Fluid-Bag MULTI and FLEXI flexible containers in an easy and accurate way. It can be used for liquid, semi-solid and high-viscous products. The Filling Station stretches the empty inner container to its maximum length while at the same time correctly positioning the top and bottom valves prior to the filling operation. The Tote Filling Station is equipped with a lifting bridge that locks the top outlet of the inner bag in the correct position during filling. With this device you can fill the Fluid-Bag from both the top and the bottom outlets. Using this unit ensures containers are consistently filled to their maximum capacity. The Filling Station can be positioned on a weigh scale for accurate filling to a pre-set weight or volume.

The pneumatically operated Filling Station is equipped with wheels for easy movement between filling stations and straightforward positioning on a weigh scale. The units are robust, durable and easy to operate.

Fluid-Bag Stretching Station

The Stretching Station is a versatile unit and can be used both to fill and discharge a Fluid-Bag. The Stretching Station is pneumatically operated and designed to stretch the flexible Fluid-Bag containers during the filling and discharge procedure. It can be used for filling both low and high viscosity products through the bottom pipe of the Fluid-Bag container. We usually recommend filling Fluid-Bag containers from the bottom, since there is no ingress of air, and so no risk of introducing particles, bacteria or other airborne contaminants.

The Stretching Station stretches the empty inner containers to its maximum length and positions the top and bottom valves to the correct position prior to the filling operation. By using this unit you ensure that the containers are consistently filled to their maximum capacity. The Stretching Station can be positioned on a weigh scale for accurate filling to a pre-set weight or volume.

Low viscosity products can be completely emptied from Fluid-Bag containers by means of the Stretching Station.

Fluid-Bag Stretching Device "Universal"

The Universal Stretching Device is designed for easy and cost-effective filling of Fluid-Bag containers. It can also be used to discharge low viscosity liquids. A pneumatic cylinder lifts the inner container to the correct position for filling. As the container fills, the weight of the liquid lowers the container gradually until it is filled to its maximum level. The device fits all sizes of Fluid-Bags making it possible to:

• stretch during bottom filling
• stretch when filling through the top valve
• discharge low viscosity liquids
• attach a Fluid-Bag Stirrer.

The device is easy to use, and makes filling and discharge fast and cost-effective.
