Sanofi-aventis is a global healthcare leader and the first pharmaceutical company in emerging markets with a broad and balanced presence.
The pharmaceutical industry benefits from Fluid-Bag’s closed system guaranteeing neither particles nor germs enter the container. The Origgio plant in Italy has used Fluid-Bag containers for many years for their product “Maalox” suspension for the German and South African markets.
Within the pharmaceutical industry Fluid-Bag is often used for intermediate storage. In this case the product is packed into Fluid-Bags in Italy from where it is sent for repacking into consumer packs to be shipped to their markets around the world.
Cost effectiveness is achieved using Fluid-Bag’s “MULTI” system based on a returnable steel pallet. After repacking only the “MULTI” pallet is returned to Sanofi-aventis. A great advantage is that the pallet takes up only 1/5 of the volume of conventional containers. New, sterile inner containers are used when the Fluid-Bags are refilled.
